Shooting at Albany State University
At 8:50 p.m. on October 19, a shooting took place at Georgia's Albany State University. According to ABC News, the shooting occurred during the Homecoming festivities. A total of six people were struck, with nineteen-year-old De'Marion Tashawn Daniels left dead.
Interim Albany State President Lawrence M. Drake II stated "As, always, the safety and security of our ASU students, faculty and staff are the number one priority of this situation."
In addition to the death of Tashawn, five girls aged 13, 16, 17, 19, and 20 were injured while attempting to leave the scene according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Although no arrests have been made yet, the GBI is working to find suspects.
